POEM: NEIGHBORS -4
I live out in the suburbs on a street called Blue Tango.
I know that sounds a bit racy, but Blue Tango
is actually a bit of an anomaly around here.
This is just your plain vanilla up tight bedroom community,
like so much else here in the Home of the Free,
Land of the Brave, barbeque in the back yard nation.
There’s Jefferson, Hamilton, Adams, and Washington.
And then my street, Blue Tango. God knows
how these things happen. My mind boggles
wondering which NuNited States Presidente
got bumped for Blue Tango, and when, and why.
Maybe I should call Thomas Kuhn, the Anomaly Guy.
Is Blue Tango the precursor of a paradigm shift?
You have it better. You live on a street called Light My Fire,
right between Hibiscus and Bird of Paradise, over from Hendrix Way.
I’m willing to go on the record here: I like your neighborhood
oh so very much better than mine. Was there a Doors fan
on the City Planning Commission when street names were assigned?
As I was saying, I like your neighborhood better.
It is the only part of town where you can salsa in the streets,
set firecrackers off all year long, build Particle Accelerators,
explore the wonders of The Tenth Dimension,
and keep (Wild) Pink Flamingos on your front (Astroturf) lawn.

O you Marco Polo of 23rd Century…did you ever meet Captain Geno Kane Gupta from spaceship DragonZephyr? And his missed female pilot Dominique Alia Wu? The great void was said to have swallowed them….unfortunately they knew nothing about tenth dimension and the other 9 to this time….
Beyond Chaos and Kosmos, Beyond Kairos and Chronos….the ultimate mysteries and crystal clear forms and imaginal cells are oscillating with 54 Giga Hertz per second….and the hyperspace is a continuum with hypertime…like a guy named Rilke knew long time ago…
Greetings to all the missed souls….they live!
Simply pure, inner-dimensional, stream of conscious Ness (that is the lady dinosaur up in the Scottish Loch) delights here, Albert… I love to see this playful Big Mind side of you. Yes, we must do all these things in the world, but we also need to take rides on the Time Warp Express, and “express” ourselves poetically, extravagantly, and hyperspatially, as you have done here with your good friend, that delightful fashionista Giga Herz.. … Sending you septillions of Plank seconds…………………..Temple Belle (Giga Herz's cousin from Planet Metafor.) You are now part of the Twenty Third Century Novel….Welcome!
:)Some navigational backgound for all those to whom 20th century is already far behind:
Geno Cane Gupta and Dominique Alia Wu are brainchilds of a writer called Norman Spinrad. 1983 he published his imaginative novel:
The Void Captains Tale
Roger and Over.
I walked around as you do, investigating
the endless star,
and in my net, during the night, I woke up naked,
the only thing caught, a fish trapped inside the wind.
Pablo Neruda
Easy for you to drop exotica by Norman Spinrad, Albert. I’m stuck living on Luster Leaf Lane, which was obviously christened by the same guy who gave us Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, Lana Lang, Lotte Lenya and Lord knows what else. At least I’m not consigned to one of the innumerabe suburban enclaves passing itself off as Sherwood Forest. “I’ll meet you at the intersection of Maid Marian and Friar Tuck.” No, I wouldn’t want to live there; I wouldn’t want to live.
If I were looking for somewhere to hang my hat in Century 23, I’d head right for the place created by the fabulous Cordwainer Smith: Alpha Ralpha Boulevard, where you get what you’ve been dreaming about (but not always what you wanted).
“I'll meet you at the intersection of Maid Marian and Friar Tuck..”' Fabulous! Sends me off into a whole new city of possibilities. I have always seen NEIGHBORS as an Infinite Game, and you have just stepped onto the playing field with irresistible possibilities. Me? I live at the corner of James Joyce and David Bohm….:)
